30th Midlothian Scout Troop Established

The 30th Midlothian (Davidson’s Mains) Scout Troop was founded by Messrs Galloway and Brown. In its early days, the Troop held meetings at 7:30 pm on Tuesday evenings in the Davidson’s Mains Parish Church Hall. In the latter half of 1927, the Troop moved to its own headquarters on Main Street, providing a permanent base for its activities.

The Troop experienced growth from the outset, with 30 Scouts enrolled within its first six months, reflecting the enthusiasm and support of the local community for the fledgling Scouting movement.
