The end of July 1929 saw the 30th Midlothian Scouts head off to camp near Inverary at the same time a group of Boy Scouts from Philadelphia arrived in the village where it was recorded in the West Lothian Courier that the Lads from overseas camped in Davidson's Mains Public Park, and had a real good time.
