In February 1968, the Court of Honour Minutes recorded the Group’s name as the 30th Edinburgh Boy Scout Troop. This change likely resulted from district boundary adjustments, which placed the Troop under the Edinburgh District rather than Midlothian.
On 28 June 1968, the Minutes noted a proposal to rename the Troop as the 107th Edinburgh. However, this suggestion was met with strong objections from most members, and the Group continued to be known as the 30th Edinburgh until February 1971, when the name was officially changed to the 30th Inverleith Scout Troop.
The Minutes of the Group Scouters for the 30th Inverleith later recorded a clarification that 30th Edinburgh (Davidson’s Mains) was not the correct name of the Group. The proper designation was 30th Inverleith, and it was agreed that Group shoulder tabs bearing “30th Inverleith” in yellow lettering on a green background should be ordered for members’ uniforms.
