In 2001, the Scout Association carried out another major restructuring, and as part of this, the Venture Scouts Section was discontinued and replaced by Explorer Scouts (ages 14–18), and at the same time, the Scout Network was introduced (ages 18-25)
Explorer Scouts were formally launched in February 2002.
